Reptiles are ectotherms ("cold-blooded"), which means that they don't produce their own body heat. Instead, they rely on outside sources of heat like the Sun to get the heat energy that their bodies need to function properly. However, different reptiles have different temperature preferences — what keeps a bearded dragon healthy will cook a crested gecko, for example. So it's important to be careful about the temperatures that your pet reptile is exposed to in its enclosure.

The Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Thermostat is a non-proportional (on/off) thermostat with both "Heat" and "Cool" modes to more effectively control the temperature in your reptile or amphibian's terrarium. "Heat" mode turns heating devices (heat mats, ceramic heat emitters, etc.) on as necessary, and "Cool" mode turns cooling devices (ex: fans) on as necessary. It is capable of controlling up to 600w of heating devices or 150w of cooling devices between 50°F and 122°F.

The Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Thermostat also features an LCD displayed with convenient two-button programming, built-in memory storage in case of power failure, and an alarm for when temperatures reach extremely high or low levels.

Maximum wattage: 600w (heat) or 150w (cool)

Instructions for Use:

Place the remote temperature sensor probe in the location where you want the temperature controlled. For example, if you want to control the basking temperature, place it on the basking spot. If you want to control the cool zone temperature, place it on the substrate on that end. Set the thermostat to the appropriate mode of operation accordingly.

DO NOT use to control mercury vapor UVB lamps (e.g., PowerSun UV Self-ballasted  Mercury Vapor lamp), compact fluorescent lamps, or rock heaters.

For appropriate, safe, use, please read the instructions booklet included with this product.
