Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Fiber Substrate Brick

by Zoo Med

Loose, naturalistic substrates have many benefits for exotic pets. As well as encouraging the natural digging instincts that many animals have, it also holds humidity and heat well.

Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Fiber Substrate is an eco-friendly peat moss alternative made from the husks of coconuts, and can be safely composted or recycled into potted plants or gardens. It's ideal for tropical or forest terrariums, and can be used with a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates:

  • ball pythons
  • blue tongue skinks
  • boa constrictors
  • crested geckos
  • gargoyle geckos
  • millipedes
  • pac man frogs
  • pixie frogs
  • spotted salamanders
  • tiger salamanders
  • tarantulas
  • tomato frogs

For best results, layer on top of Zoo Med Naturalistic Terrarium Substrate Mesh and Zoo Med HydroBalls for healthy drainage and optimum performance.

Instructions for Use:

Place brick in a pail or bucket and add four quarts of water. Allow to expand for 30 minutes. Wring out excess moisture before placing in your pet's terrarium.

Place at least 2" of Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Fiber Substrate on the floor of the terrarium. Spot clean daily to remove feces, urates, and contaminated substrate. Completely replace every 3 months, or sooner if needed.
