The Dairy Cow is a unique variant of Porcellio laevis, a sizable and widespread isopod species. Known for their substantial appetites, these isopods need a protein-rich diet to thrive; without it, they may resort to cannibalism. Their voracious eating habits make them excellent candidates for a clean-up crew in bioactive setups. Due to their larger size and slower movements, they can be vulnerable to predation by tank inhabitants, so maintaining a separate thriving colony is advised for replenishing bioactive enclosures. They adapt well to diverse conditions, from drier setups (like those for Ball Pythons or Bearded Dragons) to more tropical, humid environments (suitable for Crested Geckos). Porcellio laevis is also highly reproductive, quickly increasing in numbers under proper care. For quality isopods, trust ReptileSupply.com.
