We are proud to offer some of the highest quality black soldier fly larvae in the country, produced by the entomologists at Symton® in Texas.

Nutrigrubs have various names, including Soldier Fly Larvae, they are the same feeder insect. Read on below for more information.

NutriGrubs (Hermetia illucens), or black soldier fly larvae, are popular and nutrition-packed feeders for bearded dragons, geckos, chameleons, and various other animals.  Phoenix Worms®, CalciWorms® and ReptiWorms™ are all brand names of the same species of Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSF Larvae) known as Hermetia illucens.

NutriGrubs are high in protein, with moderate amounts of fat and fiber, making them a nutrient-packed feeder. Unlike other live feeder insects, black soldier fly larvae contain the perfect ratio of calcium to phosphorus, so there is no need to dust!

NutriGrubs Nutritional Information:
  • Moisture: 61.2%
  • Protein: 17.5%
  • Fat: 14.0%
  • Ash: 3.5%
  • Fiber: 3.0%
  • Calcium: 9340mg/kg
  • Phosphorous: 3560mg/kg

Another great thing about NutriGrubs is that they're super low maintenance — just keep their tub in a cool, dry place!

Providing a variety of different food sources is an important part of keeping your pet healthy, so make sure to check out our other feeder insects too!

Pro tip: If you notice some of your grubs turning black, they are close to the "fly" stage. Keep them until they turn into a fly and watch your pet go after them! It's excellent enrichment for your pet, and they are a slow-moving fly, so they are easy to catch. Plus, if your pet doesn't like the grubs, it should like the flies!
