Tegus

Tegus (genera Tupinambis and Salvator) are mid-sized to large lizards native to South America. Colombian tegus typically grow to about 2.5' long, while Argentine tegus can grow up to 5' long. They have an average lifespan of 15-20 years. Tegus are omnivores, eating a varied diet of both plants and animals.
