Kingsnakes (genus Lampropeltis, includes other species) are native to North America. This group of snakes is delightfully diverse, but they are most active at night and eat a carnivorous diet of small animals, including other snakes! Depending on species, they can grow anywhere between 1.5' to 5' long, and generally live about 20 years in captivity.
