We have made the tough decision to discontinue selling butterworms. After much consideration, we concluded that they are not the ideal feeder due to their high fat content, similar to waxworms. While they can be part of a balanced diet, their cost is prohibitive. Since butterworms are imported from outside the US, we face challenges in ensuring consistent quality, and our priority is to provide only top-tier feeders. We believe the benefits they offer do not outweigh the expenses or potential risks to you, our valued customer.

What exactly are butterworms? Known also as Tebo worms, they are the larvae of the Chilean moth (Chilecomadia moorei). Often used as fishing bait, butterworms also serve as delightful treats for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.

Our Mixed Butterworms come in various sizes, ranging from approximately 1/2" to 1 1/2". Their easy storage makes them a convenient choice, and pets absolutely adore them!

Given their high fat content, butterworms are best used as occasional treats rather than a primary food source. For a reliable staple feeder, we suggest checking out dubia roaches and NutriGrubs at ReptileSupply.com.

Always dust butterworms with calcium powder before feeding to ensure proper nutrition.

Storage Guidelines:

Keep your butterworms in the refrigerator door at around 42-45°F. At this temperature, they enter hibernation and can be stored without food or water for up to 3 months.
