Reptiles, being ectothermic or "cold-blooded," cannot generate their own body heat and depend on external heat sources, such as sunlight, to regulate their body temperature. Different species of reptiles require specific temperature ranges for optimal health; for instance, a temperature suitable for a bearded dragon could be harmful to a leopard gecko. Therefore, monitoring and controlling the temperature in your pet’s habitat is crucial.

The Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Thermostat offers a reliable solution as a non-proportional (on/off) thermostat with dual "Heat" and "Cool" settings to manage the environment in your reptile or amphibian’s enclosure. The "Heat" setting activates heating equipment like heat pads or ceramic emitters when needed, while the "Cool" setting operates cooling devices such as fans. It supports up to 600w for heating devices and 150w for cooling devices, maintaining temperatures between 50°F and 122°F.

This thermostat is equipped with an easy-to-read LCD display, simple two-button programming, memory backup for power outages, and an alert system for extreme temperature fluctuations.

Maximum wattage capacity: 600w (heating) or 150w (cooling)

Usage Guidelines:

Position the remote temperature sensor in the area of the enclosure where temperature regulation is desired. For instance, place it at the basking area to monitor basking temperatures or at the cooler end to manage the cool zone. Adjust the thermostat mode based on the area being controlled.

Important: Thermostats and rheostats do not enhance the heat output of a device. If your heat source isn’t sufficient at its highest setting, consider upgrading to a higher wattage device.

For safe operation, thoroughly review the instruction manual provided with the product.

CAUTION: Do not use this thermostat with mercury vapor UVB lamps (e.g., PowerSun UV Self-ballasted Mercury Vapor lamp), compact fluorescent lamps, rock heaters, or heat lamps.
