Zoo Med ReptiTemp Rheostat
Reptiles, being ectothermic or "cold-blooded," cannot generate their own body heat and depend on external sources like the Sun to regulate their temperature. Different reptile species have unique temperature needs—what's ideal for a bearded dragon might be harmful to a crested gecko. Therefore, monitoring and adjusting the temperature within your pet’s habitat is crucial for their well-being.
With the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Rheostat, you can manually adjust the heat or light output of compatible devices using a simple control dial. This device supports up to two incandescent or halogen bulbs, as well as ceramic heat emitters, for tailored environmental control.
Important: This is not a thermostat. For precise temperature regulation in your reptile or amphibian’s enclosure, consider the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Thermostat instead.
Reminder: Neither thermostats nor rheostats can boost the heat output beyond a device’s capacity. If your heat source isn’t sufficient at its highest setting, opt for a higher wattage option.
