Monitor Lizards

Monitor lizards (genus Varanus) are a diverse group of lizards native to Africa, Asia, and Oceania. This group includes species such as the Savannah monitor, Nile monitor, and Ackie monitor, as well as many others. They are primarily active during the day and have a mainly carnivorous diet of insects, fish, birds, and mammals. Monitor lizards can be anywhere between 9 inches to 10 feet long, and generally live between 15-30 years.

Monitor lizards are a big responsibility! Please do lots of research before bringing home a pet monitor so you can give it the best life possible.
