Tarantulas (order Theraphosidae) are a group of hairy-looking spiders native to North, Central, and South America. Tarantulas range in size from just 2" across to 12". Males tend to live just 3-6 years, but females can live up to 30-35 years. Tarantulas are carnivorous, known to eat a variety of insects, as well as small fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and even birds!
