How Often Should a Bearded Dragon Poop?
There are many factors to consider when determining how often bearded dragons should poop. Firstly, it depends on their age.
Baby bearded dragons normally have bowel movements more often than young and adult lizards.
Baby bearded dragons that are 3 months old or younger usually poop one to three times a day because their diet is rich in proteins.
A young bearded dragon (4 to 18 months old) will have a bowel movement every day or so, while you can expect those older than 18 months to poop 1-7 times a week. Just like people, each bearded dragon is different, so you don’t have to worry if it poops more or less frequently, as long as it looks healthy and behaves normally.
A bearded dragon diet contributes to how frequently your pet will poop.
For example, bearded dragons who ingest a lot of calcium will have
more frequent bowel movements.
The environment is another factor that determines how often your beardie will have a bowel movement. There must be enough heat and UVB inside your pet’s tank as the UVB helps the digestion of food in reptiles.
